Honolua Village Center
The Honolua Village was designed to complement the Honolua Store, a Maui landmark built by plantation carpenters in 1929. This residential scale project fits comfortably into the existing fabric of the old Kapalua.
The new buildings were designed to blend into the existing slope, creating several inviting outdoor gathering places. The two buildings were carefully crafted to rest easily on the slope and to recall plantation-style architecture. The new buildings house several local shops and eateries as well as Sansei restaurant and sushi bar.
